Walking Together with Heart

Supporting the Journey Services is a non-profit counseling and community organization dedicated to providing accessible, high-quality emotional and psychological healing to those navigating life's most challenging circumstances. We believe that everyone—regardless of their financial situation or past trauma—deserves the support necessary to achieve inner peace, self-sufficiency, and well-being.

Our Mission
The Problem We Address

For too many in our community, the emotional weight of poverty, trauma, instability, and crisis creates an overwhelming barrier to recovery. Traditional counseling and mental health services are often too costly, have long waiting lists, or are geographically inaccessible to the very people who need them most. We address this gap directly by integrating compassionate, professional counseling with essential community support, ensuring that healing is a viable option for all.

Our Origin: The Heart of the Journey

Supporting the Journey Services was founded on the personal conviction that healing is the foundation of a new beginning.

Personal Experience: The founder, George Burnetz, LPC, understood this struggle firsthand. Having witnessed or personally overcome periods of profound challenge, he realized that while resources like food and shelter stabilize a person's life, only deep emotional work can truly rebuild it. This experience fueled the commitment to create an organization where vulnerability is met with professional support, and where the past does not dictate the future.

Community Need: Our founding came from a deep felt need within the community. For years, he saw individuals and families trapped in cycles of hardship, not because they lacked will, but because they lacked the tools to process the profound stress, grief, and trauma of their circumstances. The original goal was simple: to offer a safe, confidential space where the journey of recovery can begin, supported by expert guidance.

What We Do

We offer a holistic model of service that focuses on the whole person, providing:

  • Accessible Counseling: Individual, family, couples, and group therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based practices (such as DBT, trauma-informed care, IFS, etc.) accepting most insurances and offered on a sliding scale basis.

  • Community Resource Navigation: Actively serving in community organizations such as Lakewood Church homeless ministry and Sleep in Heavenly Peace.

Our Vision for the Future

We envision a community where the path to healing is never blocked by a lack of resources, and where every individual has the opportunity to process their past, restore their inner strength, and step confidently into a brighter future. We are not just supporting people through their journey; we are empowering them to lead it.
